    Preparation <\/b><\/h3>\n

    Surfaces must be dry, clean, and free of wax, grease, dirt, and sanding dust. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Glossy surfaces must be sanded with sandpaper or steel wool. <\/span><\/p>\n

    For best appearance, new and uncoated surfaces should be sealed with a thinned coat of No.141 High Gloss (1 pint of mineral spirits per gallon of No.141 High Gloss). <\/span><\/p>\n

    This is particularly important if you want to apply the varnish to porous wood (e.g., masonite, OSB, oak, etc.) and wish to achieve a low or semi-gloss final appearance. <\/span><\/p>\n

    All sanding, nail hole filling, etc., must be completed before applying No.141 High Gloss. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”]\n

    How to apply<\/b><\/h3>\n

    Flame Control No. 141 can be applied by brush, roller, or spray. If a sealer has been applied, allow the surface to dry completely before applying No. 141. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Stir the product well before use, then apply a uniform coat at a coverage rate of approximately 400 sq ft\/US gallon (9.8 m2\/L). Coverage will vary depending on surface porosity. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Allow to dry overnight or until hard. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Lightly sand, remove surface dust, then apply a second coat at the same coverage rate. <\/span><\/p>\n

    Note: Two coats are required to meet the established Class “B” fire-retardant rating. <\/span><\/p>\n
