Description:
Cetol 1 is a premium translucent exterior wood coating used as a base coat with the Cetol 23 topcoat. Its superior oil- and alkyd-resin-based formula provides a stain-and-varnish-like finish with rich colour, while also delivering a satin finish. Cetol 1 can be applied to exterior wood that has been properly sanded beforehand with #80 grit sandpaper, such as treated wood, cedar, hemlock, and pine. However, it is not recommended for IPE.

Recommended uses:
Siding, garage doors, patio furniture, trim, windows, fences, doors, log homes.
Drying time:
- Touch dry in 4 to 6 hours
- Recoat dry after 24 hours
Number of coats:
One when used as a base coat before applying Cetol 23. Otherwise, two coats are recommended.
