Our team of designers and paint consultants at Colobar.
Her talent and interest in artistic projects led her to choose her vocation as a decorator quite early. She studied at Centre de formation Compétences 2000 and graduated with honors in 1998.
For over 20 years now, she has inspired and guided a large number of clients on projects as varied as they are diverse: single-family homes, secondary residences, commercial and institutional buildings, kitchen, bathroom, and basement renovations, homes under construction, contemporary lofts with industrial style, or Victorian country homes…
Martine possesses an essential quality for a professional decorator: the ability to listen to her clients to propose ideas and concepts that match their style, tastes, and aspirations while respecting budget expectations.
Several projects she has participated in have been featured in various decorating magazines such as Je décore, Les idées de ma maison, and Decormag.

Fannie Benoit has been working with the Colobar Team since 2014.
It only takes a few minutes of conversation with Fannie to understand that, behind her somewhat reserved and perfectionist side, lies a quirky artistic side that appreciates beauty, humor, and refinement.
Fannie combines a background in graphic arts as well as in a construction sector related to finishing. She has acquired strong competence and over 15 years of work experience in the field of paint, decorating, and interior finishing. Her rigor and attention to detail make her a paint and stain consultant greatly appreciated by the clients she has the privilege of serving.

Patrice Riopel has been working with the Colobar Team since 1981.
Still a student, he joined the team the very year his parents acquired Colobar. He joined the Team full-time in the late '80s while completing his Bachelor of Business Administration from HEC Montréal.
Patrice possesses extensive expertise in everything related to the paint field: custom color creation, project evaluation, quantity calculations, wood treatment and protection, industrial systems, etc.
Patrice also handles the administration and finance aspects of the business.

Frédéric greatly appreciates his vocation of helping Colobar clients beautify their homes. In addition to being a highly qualified paint and stain consultant, he is responsible for the company's marketing and business development.
Since 2008, Frédéric has served on the Merchant Council of Groupement Passeport Élite (a group of about a hundred paint retailers in Quebec). He has served as President since 2010.

Our History
Founded in 1959, Colobar is a family business where traditional values such as service, courtesy, and customer respect are at the heart of our tradition of success. Known for over twenty years as Pont-Viau Colorbar, this business was one of the pioneers in developing specialized services related to the paint and decorating industry.
The business was initially developed by Mr. Denis Beaudoin, a young entrepreneur from Laval.
During the 1970s, the business underwent a major expansion: the building’s surface area was doubled. Also, it was around 1976 that the name was francized to Colobar. This was at the time of the appearance of Quebec’s Charter of the French Language, Bill 101.
Colobar was sold in 1981 to a young businessman and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Riopel. Michel Riopel, an entrepreneur at heart, successfully led his team through the most prosperous periods of the economy as well as through the economic recession cycles that characterized the years 1982 and 1989 to 1994. His business philosophy is focused on product quality and exceptional customer service.
Mr. Riopel directed Colobar’s destiny for nearly twenty years, until the late 1990s. It was at that time that control of the business was transferred to Patrice Riopel and Frédéric Bourdon, son and nephew of the former owners.
The two cousins, who had been working within the company for several years, built and developed the business according to the same business philosophy focused on competence, quality, and service.
In 2019, it was the 60th anniversary of the company’s founding.
Since then, the entire team continues to work in unison to do what we do best: beautify the interior of your home and protect its exterior…
