Sansin SDF: High-Performance Wood Siding Stain
Product description
Description:
Why choose Sansin SDF?
Sansin SDF is designed for those seeking durable and aesthetic protection for their exterior vertical wood surfaces. Its eco-friendly, water-based formula penetrates deeply, protecting against moisture and UV rays, while allowing the wood to breathe. Its highly water-repellent nature makes it the obvious choice for house siding, fences, and structures prone to moisture. SDF not only protects the exterior of the wood but also preserves its core by allowing it to “breathe,” which prevents moisture from becoming trapped and causing rot.
SDF is ranked by siding manufacturers among the best natural coatings on the market.
Key Benefits:
- ✔ Protection against water and weather without forming a film.
- ✔ UV resistance to minimize fading.

How to apply
How to apply
Preparation:
- Ensure the surface is free of any defects or deterioration.
- Replace defective parts if necessary.
- The surface must be clean and free of all dust, dirt, grease, wax, and/or old coating
- Wash the surface with the appropriate Sansin cleaner and/or stripper using a high-pressure washer.
- Allow to dry for at least 24 hours.
- Sand the wood using a belt or orbital sander with 60-grit sandpaper.
Application:
Sansin SDF siding stain is easy to apply: simply saturate the surface by applying a generous coat (with a brush or by spraying) and check to remove any puddles or runs with a brush. Very important: do not apply during the hottest part of the day or in direct sunlight (do not apply if the wood is hot to the touch). Do not apply on a rainy day and/or during cold nights; the product requires 24 hours of drying after application. Be sure to mix the product well before and during application to ensure uniform color.
Maintenance:
Vertical surfaces require regular maintenance. Periodically, wash your wood with Sansin multi-wash biodegradable cleaner to remove dust, dirt, and stains.
When the finish begins to look worn (discoloration or erosion), it is time to consider applying a maintenance coat. Normally, a maintenance coat will be required at a frequency varying from 1 to 4 years. The frequency of maintenance will depend on the quality of preparation, application, application conditions, and exposure to wear factors and weather. Maintaining your wood regularly will allow it to retain its color long-term, have better dimensional stability, and maintain its water-repellent power.
If discoloration or erosion is evident, wash your wood with a high-pressure washer and/or use Sansin multi-wash to remove dust and dirt. Then, reapply a maintenance coat of Sansin SDF following the application instructions. Exposure, application, and color choice will affect the coating’s performance.
