How to Apply
Preparation
Surfaces must be clean and free of dirt, dust, chalking, oil, peeling, or other contaminants. Very smooth materials and surfaces must be sanded to ensure TracSafe Sealer adhesion.
- Rinse the surface.
- Scrub the floor using Krud-Kutter degreaser cleaner or a surface prep solution. Scrub the floor to remove all contaminants with a nylon brush or a pressure washer.
- Rinse again.
- Let the surface dry for at least 24 hours.
If the surface you wish to paint with TracSafe is very smooth (such as ceramic, polished stone, etc.), it is best to sand the surface to create a profile and allow the sealer to bond.
If there is an existing finish on the floor, it must be sanded with 150-grit sandpaper. All traces of peeling or loose paint must be mechanically removed.
Applying TracSafe Anti-Slip Sealer
TracSafe Anti-Slip Sealer should be applied with a 10mm roller. The sealer should not be applied at temperatures below 10°C.
- Start by mixing the sealer well using a stir stick. Scrape the bottom of the container to ensure there is no sediment.
- Apply a first uniform coat of TracSafe Sealer using the roller.
- Let dry for a minimum of 6 to 8 hours. For ideal application conditions, it is best to wait until the next day.
- Apply a second coat in the same way as the first.
- To increase the anti-slip effect and durability of TracSafe, one or more additional coats can be applied.
- Wait 24 hours after applying the final coat before walking on the surface.
