Maintenance
Use only Osmo Wash & Care (for floors) or Osmo Spray Cleaner (for small surfaces). This detergent contains a small amount of the finish’s natural oils to keep the surface well-hydrated.
Curing Period: 2 to 3 weeks before wet mopping or placing rugs or carpets on the surface.

Preparation
Contaminants such as grease, oils, or cleaning agents must be completely removed, as they can impair adhesion between the wood surface and the coating. The use of Osmo Intensive Cleaner is recommended.
Proper sanding for a hardwax oil finish opens the wood grain, ensures uniform oil absorption, and creates a smooth surface without clogging pores. Skipping this step or sanding incorrectly can lead to uneven color, a rough texture, and reduced durability. We recommend 120 grit for floors and 180 grit for furniture.
Application
Stir the finish well before use.
Polyx®-Oil is easily applied with a cloth, brush, roller, or single-disc machine.
- Using the microfiber roller or Osmo floor brush, apply Polyx®-Oil in a thin, even coat in the direction of the wood grain.
- Do not remove excess product; it will be absorbed by the wood surface during the drying period.
- Drying time: approximately 8 to 10 hours (under normal climatic conditions, 23 °C / 50% relative humidity). Lower temperatures or higher humidity may affect drying time. Ensure the room is well-ventilated.
Second Coat:
- Apply the second coat of Polyx®-Oil in a thin, even layer, as before. Remove excess product after 5 to 10 minutes. You can also apply the second coat using a squeegee, then polish the surface with a clean white pad.
- Allow to dry for 8 to 10 hours.
- Once completely dry, the surface can be polished or buffed using a hand polisher or a single-disc machine.
Pro Tip: For a superior finish on countertops, perform light sanding (P320/P400 grit) after the second coat, then polish with a white pad for a smooth, silky result
Third Coat: Generally, a third coat is not necessary; however, very absorbent or dry woods may appear to require one.
