How to apply
Learn how to apply the epoxy finish.
FLOOR PREPARATION
1- Sweep or vacuum to remove dust, dirt, and other debris. Pay special attention to corners.
2- Clean thoroughly with Finitec Surface Prep to remove accumulated dirt and rinse.
3- Scuff the surface with a sander and 120-grit sandpaper (or an orbital sander and 120-grit sandpaper).
4- Thoroughly remove dust with a vacuum or damp towels.
NOTE: Perform a preliminary test on a section by reproducing actual application conditions and methods to verify adhesion, compatibility, and product color.
PREPARATION AND MIXING
Stir with a clean stick to ensure product homogeneity. Mix vigorously for at least 45 seconds. Let stand for at least 10 minutes to allow bubbles to disperse.
NOTE: DO NOT dilute.
APPLICATION METHOD (10mm roller)
NOTE: Turn off all ventilation in the room. If ventilation cannot be turned off, block all vents for minimum air movement in the room.
1- Ensure the epoxy surface is clean and dry, free of wax, grease, or oil.
2- DO NOT use if the surface temperature, ambient temperature, or concrete slab temperature is below 15°C.
3- Pour a generous amount of the protective coat into a paint tray.
4- Use the 15 cm (6 in) Finitec applicator or a clean brush, soak, and apply a strip around the perimeter of the floor.
5- Thoroughly soak the roller. In a corner of the room, on a section of approximately 4 ft x 4 ft, place the roller in the center and roll in a back-and-forth motion.
6- Then go over it in the opposite direction and eliminate streaks by lifting the roller at the end of the stroke.
7- Overlap each section by a width of about 6 in.
NOTE: DO NOT apply too thin a coat (refer to the Coverage section in the technical data of this document).
8- Continue this way across the entire floor.
9- Allow 3 to 4 hours of drying time between coats (may vary depending on ambient conditions).
Do not exceed 24 hours between coats.
NOTE: It is recommended to apply 2 coats. For optimal results, 1 to 2 additional coats may be applied.
10- Sand between coats with a sander and 180-grit sandpaper.
11- Remove dust using a vacuum or damp towels.
NOTE: It is not necessary to sand before the final coat if the time between the last two applications does not exceed 3-4 hours. For the gloss finish, do not sand between the last two coats.
12- Clean tools with water.
CONCRETE SURFACE
This product was not designed to be applied to bare concrete surfaces (sealed or unsealed). We are therefore not responsible for the results of such use. Please perform application tests beforehand.
DRYING AND CURING TIME
The curing process is approximately 7 days (100% cure after 7 days, 90% after 48-72 hours, and 75% after 24 hours). To optimize the performance of the protective coat, it is important to wait for full cure before the first wet cleaning. After 4 hours of drying time, light traffic is permitted. Traffic is possible after 24 hours; however, the floor may scratch or scuff. The curing process must be respected (refer to the Technical Data in this document).
NOTE: The drying and curing times mentioned in this document may vary depending on application conditions: lower temperature (ambient air and/or slab), higher humidity, or a thicker application of product on the floor could slow down the drying and curing processes.
MAINTENANCE AND PREVENTION
For a garage surface, take precautions and wait 5 to 7 days before parking a vehicle.
However, keep in mind that car tires can sometimes leave black marks on the varnish caused by heat and oil found in the rubber.
Use protective felt pads under furniture and storage units to prevent scratches.
Do not slide or drag furniture across the floor.
Vacuum or sweep regularly to prevent the finish from being scratched.

In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse thoroughly with water for 15 minutes. If inhaled, move the person to fresh air. If swallowed, call a doctor. Do not induce vomiting. If the person is conscious, have them drink a few glasses of water. Keep out of reach of children.
