Description:
The “Crack Filling Epoxy” kit is designed to permanently fill cracks in concrete floors before applying Passeport Elite 100% solids epoxy or other paint.
- Two-component system (2 parts Resin A and 1 part Hardener B)
- High solids content (virtually odourless)
- Very strong adhesion to crack walls
- Stays flexible despite its hardness
- Can be painted after 4 to 6 hours of drying
- Easy to apply with a trowel
The surface covered or filled by this size will of course depend on the width, depth, and length of the cracks to be sealed. As a guideline, a 425 mL container will fill about 35 linear ft of a crack (widened with a grinder) that is 1/4″ wide by 1/4″ deep.
Full description:
Crack-sealing epoxy is a 2-component system designed to repair cracks up to 1 cm wide in concrete floors. With a high solids content, it dries without volume loss. It protects against damage caused by water and freeze-thaw cycles. Easy to apply, it bonds strongly to crack walls and remains flexible, allowing it to follow concrete movement.
*Please note that repairs will not be concealed if a clear coating is used to protect the surface. The product is a clear, slightly frosted white colour. An opaque paint is therefore recommended.
Coverage:
- About 35 linear ft per 425 mL (for a 1/4″ wide x 1/4″ deep crack)
- About 245 linear ft per 3 L (for a 1/4″ wide x 1/4″ deep crack)
- COVE BASE: About 245 linear ft per 3 L (for a 1/4″ wide x 1/4″ deep crack)
- COVE BASE: About 50 linear ft per 3 L (for a 1″ wide x 1″ deep cove base)
Surface preparation:
Remove loose particles using a grinder. Clean the cracks with a water jet, then let dry completely. It is recommended to fill deep cracks with sand to within 2 cm (3/4″) of the surface.
Mixing and application:
The material must be at a temperature above 12 °C (53 °F). However, the product can be applied at a lower temperature. Open both containers and pour all of Part B (hardener) into Part A (resin). Mix both components thoroughly until a uniform colour is obtained. Fill the cracks flush with the surface. Allow to dry for at least 4 to 6 hours before applying a coat of Passeport Élite 100% solids epoxy.
