Description:
STEINA Stain-Blocking Primer is used on wood decks, fences, and siding. This linseed oil primer with alkyd resin helps eliminate marks and natural discoloration of wood prone to extractive bleeding (sap marks from knots), such as red cedar, redwood, fir, and pine. It is designed to allow maximum wood breathability, thereby reducing the risk of finish flaking. STEINA Stain-Blocking Primer serves as a premium base coat for latex or oil finishes.
STEINA Stain-Blocking Primer can be used to seal the entire wood surface or for local application, for example, on bleeding knots. STEINA Primer also resists damage caused by mold.

How to apply
Preparation:
The surface must be clean and completely dry. Remove mold, dust, dirt, oils, and grease with Passeport Elite Deck Cleaner.
- Apply the cleaner generously to the surface using a garden sprayer or pressure washer. For vertical surfaces, clean from bottom to top.
- Allow to act for 5 to 10 min.
- Rinse with clear water and allow to dry for 24 to 48 hrs.
Application of Steina Stain-Blocking Primer:
- Mix the product thoroughly. Scrape the bottom of the can with a stir stick to eliminate deposits.
- Apply Steina Primer using a bristle brush and a short-nap roller.
- Avoid rolling over the same spot multiple times. However, eliminate runs and drips before the primer dries.
- If necessary, apply a second coat once the first coat is completely dry.
Restrictions:
- Do not use indoors; drying must occur exclusively outdoors.
- Apply STEINA Primer only when the ambient temperature is above 7°C during application and drying.
- Do not apply on rainy or foggy days. Avoid morning dew or applying the product in the late afternoon. The wood must be completely dry when applying STEINA Stain-Blocking Primer.
- Do not apply in direct sunlight or if the wood has been heated by the sun for a long period.
- Do not mix with other paint, specialized thinner, or water.
- Ensure the primer is not exposed to weather conditions for more than 60 days
before adding the topcoat. (If this period is exceeded, pressure wash the surface before
applying the topcoat.) - Do not apply on smooth lap siding if the surface has not been properly sanded, pressure washed, or worn
by weathering.
