Premium translucent-finish water-repellent stain and sealer featuring an exclusive acrylic resin to enhance and protect exterior wood surfaces. Its penetrating formula limits film build to help reduce cracking and peeling.
UV- and mildew-resistant. This water-based stain applies in a single coat when the spread rate is respected.
Uses
For the following exterior wood surfaces: decks, siding, fences, shakes, and outdoor furniture. This product is ideal for softwoods such as cedar and pine, as well as factory-treated wood.

Product application
Surface preparation
To optimize product performance, the wood surface to be coated must be clean, dry, and absorbent. Surfaces must be washed with WoodluxeMD All-Purpose Wood Cleaner (K018). The Woodluxe MD stain must be able to penetrate the wood, and the substrate moisture content must not exceed 15% to ensure proper penetration.
On new smooth-planed wood or old wood, sand thoroughly with an orbital electric sander using 80-grit until you obtain a sound surface with open wood grain (free of loose or damaged wood fibers).
For fairly greyed wood, you can first use a wood brightener such as WoodluxeMD Wood Restorer (K016),
For best results, remove any old sealer from the surface before applying Woodluxe stain so the penetrating formula can work.
- Coverage per 3.79 L container: 300–400 ft² (27.9–37.2 m²)
- Dry time at 25°C (77°F) and 50% RH Tack-free: 1 hour
- Allow the product to dry for 48 hours before putting furniture back and using the surface again.
Restrictions
- New pressure-treated wood must be thoroughly dry and its moisture content must be below 15%.
- Application temperature: 5°C (40°F) to 32°C
- Do not apply to greyed wood or over an old stain in poor condition.
