Equipment Required:
- Osmo DEL-UV Smart Oil
- Non-abrasive white pad or microfiber roller
- Osmo DEL-UV 395 nm Lamp
Surface Preparation:
The wood surface must be clean, dry, and frost-free (maximum moisture content of 10%).
Recommended sanding grit for wood floors: P100 (hardwoods) – P120 (softwoods, pine)
Recommended sanding grit for furniture, doors, etc.: P120-P180
How to apply
- Osmo DEL Smart Oil is ready to use. Do not dilute. Mix well.
- Apply Osmo LED Smart Oil in a thin coat using a microfiber roller. Then, buff the oil into the wood surface with a non-abrasive white pad, such as the Osmo White SuperPad or equivalent. Apply approximately 15–20 g/m² to the wood surface and polish until no circular marks are visible.
- Using the Osmo 395 nm LED-UV lamp or a similar device (minimum 13 W), slowly pass the curing lamp over the treated area at a speed of approximately 5 seconds per foot, maintaining the lamp at a height of 4 to 6 inches (10–15 cm) above the wood surface.
- An optional second coat can be applied, thereby increasing both the durability of the surface and its sheen.
- After the first coat has cured, lightly sand the surface with P320 grit sandpaper, then remove sanding dust with a tack cloth.
- Apply a second thin coat of approximately 5-6 g/m² to the wood surface using a non-abrasive white pad, such as the Osmo White SuperPad or equivalent. Polish the wood surface until no circular marks are visible, then cure with the DEL-UV lamp, as indicated above in step 3.
- Once dry, the surface is ready for normal use or packaging, with no additional curing period required.
Storage: : 6 months if the container is kept dry, tightly closed, and at a temperature between 5 °C and 35 °C. In case of thickening due to freezing, allow to stand at room temperature for 24 to 36 hours before use.
