Description
Lifetime Wood Treatment
Lifetime Wood Treatment is a highly effective natural preservative and non-toxic treatment that beautifies and preserves the appearance of interior and exterior wood structures. No wood lasts forever, but compared to untreated wood, wood treated with Lifetime will at least double its lifespan. Once diluted, the solution—which contains plant-based elements and naturally occurring minerals—penetrates wood fibers and causes them to harden. This fiber consolidation principle is what preserves the wood over the years. Lifetime can be applied to all wood surfaces: siding, logs, decks, docks, fences, garden furniture, timber, or playsets. Indoors, it can be applied to furniture, countertops, headboards, walls, and woodwork. Lifetime Wood Treatment is non-toxic, maintenance-free, easy to apply, and has no impact on the environment, animals, or humans.
Natural beauty of wood…
Applying Lifetime Wood Treatment alters the original color of the wood to achieve a beautiful silvery grey over several months. Initially, the color will vary between light brown, olive brown, or silvery grey depending on the wood species, texture, and moisture content, eventually developing a beautiful silvery grey patina. The action of sun, snow, and rain will gradually enhance the beauty of wood treated with Lifetime protector.
Preparation:
To prepare the wood treatment solution, simply add the Lifetime powder sachet to water. The ratio is 20 g per 4.5 L of water or 100 g per 22.5 L. Some particles may not dissolve completely in water, but the treatment will be just as effective. During application, we recommend stirring the solution occasionally to maintain its full effectiveness. If applying the treatment with a sprayer, you must let the solution sit for 5 to 10 minutes after dilution, stir it again, and strain it before pouring it into the sprayer tank.
How to apply:
You can apply Lifetime Wood Treatment to untreated wood and even pressure-treated wood. You can apply the solution using a brush, roller, sprayer, or by dipping. If using a sprayer, remember it is important to take the time to properly filter the solution before pouring it into the tank. Be sure to apply the product to the entire wood surface you wish to protect, including end grains, cut points, and cracks. For certain species, it is normal for the wood treated with Lifetime not to change color immediately; it will need sun and rain to acquire its beautiful silvery patina.
To accelerate the wood’s greying process and the appearance of the silvery patina, simply let the wood treated with Lifetime dry for 1 or 2 days under normal conditions, then wet it with clean water using a garden hose. Repeat this wetting process every two weeks. The more the wood is exposed to water and sun, the faster it will develop a beautiful patina ranging from silvery grey to dark brown, depending on the wood species. The color of sawn wood may differ from that of planed and sanded wood.
Maintenance of wood treated with Lifetime:
In subsequent years, maintain the beautiful patina of the wood treated with Lifetime by cleaning it at least once a year using only soapy water and a medium-stiff bristle brush.
Precautions to take:
Lifetime treatment poses no danger to people, animals, soil, plants, water, or gardens. In its powder form, the product is acidic. We recommend handling the product with care to avoid inhalation, ingestion, and contact with eyes. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse them under running water for approximately 15 minutes. If irritation persists, consult a doctor immediately. Furthermore, ingesting the solution could cause gastrointestinal irritation. It is also important to apply the solution carefully, as it can permanently stain clothing, fabrics, windows, stucco, concrete, stone, etc.
