Sansin Wood Wash: To remove graying from wood
To restore the natural color of wood most damaged and deteriorated by continuous exposure to the elements, trust WoodWash. This product is extremely effective at removing graying, unsightly aging, mold, algae, discoloration, and grease stains. And it works fast! Simply spray it on the surface, let it sit for up to 20 minutes, scrub lightly, rinse, and let the wood dry. Then apply the included dose of Sansin Wood Lightener, a wood neutralizer and brightener. You will see your wood’s original color reappear as it works, is rinsed, and dries.
Description:
Sansin WoodWash is a ready-to-use product that removes all dirt, mold, mildew, and damage caused by weathering, returning grayed wood to its natural color. This product is biodegradable, water-washable, and easy to use.
CAUTION: Do not spill the product on stained wood, as the finish will be damaged. For annual cleaning, use Sansin MultiWash diluted 1 part to 10 parts water.
Uses:
Sansin WoodWash is recommended for aged wood surfaces such as patios, decks, fences, logs, siding, plywood, and wood posts.
Coverage:
100 to 200 sq. ft./gallon (3.78 liters) depending on surface porosity.
Surface preparation:
- The surface must be dry and the temperature above 10°C (50°F).
- Wet vegetation with water or protect with a tarp during application
- Protect surrounding surfaces with polyethylene sheeting
- Do not allow this product to come into contact with metal, fabrics, floor coverings, or garden items.
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
Wood Wash Application:
- Apply an even coat by spray, roller, or brush
- On vertical surfaces, begin application from the bottom up
- Avoid runs and drips
Application Instructions:
Step 1:
- Do not dilute WoodWash; it is ready to use.
- Do not allow the product to dry on the surface.
- Dampen the product with water to keep it active (water mist).
- Do not apply during the hottest part of the day or in direct sunlight.
- Let the product work for at least 20 minutes to loosen graying and stains.
- While waiting, you must scrub the wood with a brush. Always scrub in the direction of the wood grain.
- Rinse the surface thoroughly using a garden hose or a pressure washer (maximum 500 PSI).
- Direct the pressure washer’s water stream in the direction of the wood grain using a steady back-and-forth sweeping motion.
- Do not hold the water stream in one spot for too long, as this could damage the wood surface.
- Let the wood dry completely (the wood may still be damp) before proceeding to Step 2: Neutralizing.
Step 2:
- Applying Sansin Wood Lightener neutralizer.
- Completely dilute the Sansin Wood Lightener packet in one gallon of warm or hot water.
- Spray Wood Lightener generously over the entire surface.
- Let the Wood Lightener neutralize the treated wood surface for at least 10 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly with water.
- Let the surface dry completely for at least 24 hours before sanding.
- On planed wood surfaces, sand the wood using an orbital power sander with 60 or 80-grit sandpaper.
Product Storage:
- Close the container without over-tightening the cap
- Store in a dry place
- Avoid exposing the product to freezing temperatures
- Avoid unnecessary exposure of containers to direct sunlight
- Do not reuse empty containers
- Rinse the container before recycling
