How to maintain

Surfaces treated with 2K Wood Oil are easy to maintain:

1- Remove coarse dirt with a broom or vacuum.

2- Use the Concentrated Cleaning Care liquid soap to clean the surface with a damp mop (wrung out, not dripping!).

3- To refresh, deep-clean surfaces, and achieve a more satin finish, use Osmo Cleaning Care Wax as needed. After drying, polish this layer of Osmo Care Wax.

Do not use leftover product past the expiry date, and dispose of it properly. Shelf life: up to 2 years or more if the container is kept dry and tightly closed. Any remaining mixed product cannot be stored or reused.

Application

Floors

1- Add the hardener only at the time of application (8:1 ratio) and mix both components well. Important: once the hardener and 2K Wood Oil are mixed, the product is usable for only 3 to 4 hours. After that, the product must be disposed of in accordance with local chemical waste regulations.

2- Apply Osmo 2K Wood Oil thinly to the floor with a double-blade trowel, or standing with the professional trowel. On bevelled floors (gaps between boards): apply 2K Wood Oil in thin sections using an Osmo microfibre roller, without filling the joints, so that any wet oil absorbed into the open gap does not later rise back to the surface.

3- Do not wipe the applied oil immediately. Wait and let the oil penetrate into the wood for about 20 to 40 minutes.

4- Work and rub the oil into the wood with a single-disc floor buffer fitted with a white or beige pad to level it across the surface.

5- Allow to dry (12–24 h at 23°C) only once the oil is perfectly polished and levelled.

6- Ensure the room is well ventilated for the next 24 hours. Lower temperatures or higher humidity may extend drying time.

Full cure time: Allow 6 days for the surface to fully cure before damp mopping or placing rugs/mats on the surface.

Furniture

1- Apply 2K Wood Oil thinly with an Osmo microfibre roller and remove excess with a non-abrasive white pad, e.g., Osmo White SuperPad or similar.

2- Wait about 20–40 minutes for the oil to penetrate into the wood.

3- Using a non-abrasive white pad, work the oil into the wood and even out the surface with a non-abrasive white pad such as the Osmo SuperPad, or with a hand polisher and a white pad.

4- Let the surface dry for about 12 hours and ensure good ventilation for the next 24 hours.

Tips:

If marks remain due to applying too much oil, the single-disc machine may leave marks because of this excess product. Turn the pad over or replace it with a new one and continue polishing until the marks disappear.

Precautions:

Containers holding oil mixed with hardener must finish reacting (approx. 12–16 h) to prevent pressure from building up in the can. To avoid any potential pressure build-up in the container, let the oil/hardener mixture fully react before closing the lid again (about 12 to 16 hours).

Safety notice:

Avoid contact with eyes, skin, or clothing. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Warning! Hazardous respirable droplets may form when sprayed. Do not breathe aerosols or mists. Caution: wash used cloths immediately after use or store them in an airtight container (risk of ignition).
