Osmo Composite Maintenance Oil is colorless and revives the original shade.<br/>It can restore radiance to dull or grayish surfaces and re-establish rich, uniform tones.<br/>Osmo oil enhances the natural shade of the substrate, creating a permanent wet-look effect.<br/>A preliminary test application is highly recommended.
IMPORTANT WARNINGS:
– White or very light surfaces may yellow slightly after oil application.
– Do not apply to non-absorbent surfaces such as glass, glazed tiles, ceramic, or plastic materials.
– This product may alter the slip resistance of the original surface.
– It is impossible to issue universal recommendations, given the large number of WPC & BPC available on the market.
– Some polymer materials cannot be properly impregnated and are not suitable for treatment, particularly those without wood or bamboo, being much less absorbent.
– Coverage depends heavily on the substrate’s absorption capacity.
How to apply
Preparation
- The composite surface must have undergone some natural aging to make it more porous (less smooth). Some new or polymer materials may not be absorbent enough. It is therefore advisable to perform an impregnation test.
- Thoroughly clean the surface with Osmo Polymer Composite Cleaner (8021) to remove dirt and residues.
- Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry completely.
How to apply
Osmo Composite Maintenance Oil is ready to use: do not dilute the oil. Stir it well before application.
Apply evenly and thinly: using a flat brush or a soft, flexible bristle brush in the direction of the board grain.
Please remove excess product as you go , as well as any oil drops that have fallen on the surface: using a deck brush not soaked in finish.
The liquid maintenance oil must soak into the surface and not remain on top or in the grooves without being absorbed. (Excess oil can dry very slowly, remain sticky, and cause a shinier-than-normal oil layer, which leads to poor adhesion to the substrate and can then cause peeling.)
Allow to dry for 8 to 10 hours: at 23 Celsius, without rain or frost, in well-ventilated conditions, before walking on the surface or continuing maintenance.
At low temperatures and/or high humidity, drying time is significantly prolonged.
Notes
Coverage depends heavily on the substrate’s absorption capacity. Smooth, new WPC or BPC will absorb much less than a rough, weathered substrate (which will absorb much more oil than the indicated quantity).

Q1- Is applying multiple coats for better protection a good idea?
A- No, this is not recommended, as the oil must be able to fully penetrate the polymer composite. This is normally not as porous as real wood. If excess oil persists and remains on the surface, the product will unfortunately peel.
Q2- Does this oil change the color of my composite deck?
A- The oil slightly enhances the original shade with a permanent wet-look effect, without artificially changing the color. On very light or white surfaces, a slight yellow tint may appear. A test application is therefore recommended.
Q3- Is Osmo Maintenance Oil suitable for all composites?
A- It is designed for WPC (Wood Polymer Composite) and BPC (Bamboo Polymer Composite). Composites without wood or bamboo, or non-absorbent surfaces (glass, ceramic, plastic), cannot be impregnated and are not compatible.
Q4- How long does the protection last?
A- Thanks to its deep impregnation, the protection is durable and resistant to weathering, stains, and moisture. The frequency of maintenance depends on sun exposure, use, and the type of composite, but periodic refreshment is usually sufficient.
Q5- How long can unused product be stored?
A- The oil can be stored for 5 years or more if kept in its original, tightly closed container and protected from frost.
