Applying Hard Wax Oil for Concrete
Preparation
The surface to be finished must be perfectly clean and dry. The moisture content in the concrete must be below 5%. The surface must be free of stains, plaster traces, curing agents, coatings, or other contaminants (oil, grease, acrylic sealant, silicone, etc.) that could hinder the penetration or adhesion of the Concrete Hard Wax Oil. Sanding the surface may be necessary to uniformize the concrete's porosity. Dust thoroughly afterward. Excessively porous concrete could absorb the wax oil unevenly and create staining effects.
How to apply
Shake container well before application
Do not apply at temperatures below 12°C or in humid conditions
Use only in well-ventilated areas
Keep plants and aquariums away from solvent vapors
Normally, the product is applied undiluted.
However, if the concrete is very smooth, dilute with 5% Iso-Diluant
Apply in a thin coat with a silk brush or a 5 mm short-nap roller
Wipe very regularly as you apply using a clean, bleached cotton cloth (circular motion)
Ensure uniform application, leaving no gaps or thick spots
For large surfaces, using a floor polisher equipped with a soft pad (beige or white pad) is recommended. To facilitate polishing, work in small areas
Two coats are recommended; wait 8 to 12 hours before applying the 2nd coat
Drying time
Fast drying and hardening; take precautions during the first few days
Wait 2 to 4 days before heavy traffic and replacing heavy furniture
Touch dry in 6 hours
Recoatable after 8 to 12 hours
Full cure in 10 days
Dust Removal
The surface must be dusted regularly (broom or vacuum).
For dirt, stains, and occasional marks, use BLANCHON LAGOON® cleaner with a cloth or microfiber mop.
Important:
Wait at least 10 days before the first cleaning to allow the CONCRETE HARD WAX OIL to dry perfectly.
For occasional refreshing on surfaces with heavier wear, spray a light film of oil using a spray bottle and wipe with a clean cloth.
Maintenance
The surface must be dusted regularly. For dirt, stains, and occasional marks, use BLANCHON LISABRIL cleaner with a cloth or microfiber mop.
**IMPORTANT: wait 10 days for the first intervention, so that the CONCRETE HARD WAX OIL dries perfectly.
For monthly maintenance. Spray a light film of oil using a spray bottle and wipe with a clean cloth.
