Alkyd Anti-Rust Primer Fast-drying
Description and Uses:
Universal low-VOC alkyd primer (< 340 g/l) with fast drying. Suitable for use on steel structures and other iron surfaces; roofs, tanks, beams, agricultural equipment, machinery. Topcoat with MétalForce 456-8XX anti-rust coating or MétalForce 456-6XXE industrial coating. Can also serve as temporary protection. Provides a smooth finish without sandblasting.
Surface Preparation:
Surface must be clean, dry and free of all contaminants. Previously painted surface: scrape off any peeling paint, paying particular attention to areas where rust has penetrated. Remove rust using a steel brush or emery paper. Sand glossy surfaces. Remove wax, grease and oil using PÉPIN ST660 thinner.
Application methods:
STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. Apply by spray to a dry film thickness of 1 to 2 mils. Thin 10 to 15% with Pépin ST661 or ST653 thinner. All application must be done at an air, surface and product temperature between 10°C and 32°C. Apply generously and evenly. One coat is sufficient. Product viscosity: 70 ± 5 KU at 25°C.

Cette peinture s’applique TRÈS TRÈS mal avec un pinceau. Sachez le. Elle sèche beaucoup trop vite, le pinceau devient donc “pâteu” et épais très rapidement. Par chance que je m’en servais comme sous- couche afin de faire un faux fini. Après l’application j’ai dû tout sabler à nouveau afin d’enlever la peinture qui avait collé par plaque .
Appliquer au pistolet peut-être… au pinceau ….JAMAIS!

Application au pistolet, excellente couverture, une seule couche suffie. L’apprêt a permis d’avoir un beau fini uniforme lors de l’application de la peinture MetalForce.
