Tung’n Teak Oil
Circa 1850 Tung’n Teak Oil is a unique blend of tung and teak oils. Tung oil is an oil extracted from the nut of a Chinese tree and has been used for centuries to protect and enhance the natural beauty of wood. Teak oil is commonly used on teak furniture and boats. Circa 1850 Tung’n Teak Oil combines the durability of tung with the penetration of teak oil. This oil penetrates deep into the wood pores to strengthen the fibers and provide a low-sheen finish with a hand-rubbed appearance.
Use Circa 1850 Tung ‘n Teak Oil only on natural, stained, oiled wood, or over itself – but never over any other finish. Remove dirt and polish with Circa 1850 furniture cleaner. Apply undiluted. Using a lint-free cloth, apply a coat of Tung ‘n Teak Oil. Allow the oil to penetrate for at least 10 minutes, then remove excess with a clean cloth so a thin coat remains on the surface. If small puddles form after removing the excess, continue wiping every 10 minutes until no more puddles form. Allow to dry 24 hours. To smooth the surface between coats, sand using a Circa 1850 synthetic pad or steel wool (0000). Apply a second coat in the same manner as the first. For a slightly higher sheen, a third and fourth coat may be applied, always waiting 24 hours between coats. Do not work in direct sunlight or wind.
