Description:
Circa 1850 Wood Bleach is a two-part oxygen bleach developed to remove the natural color of bare wood and lighten the color of stained wood. It is ideal for lightening wood that has turned gray from exposure to the elements. It lightens all types of wood, including walnut, mahogany and teak, as well as wood that has darkened due to aging.

How to apply
Before starting your main project, it is always advisable to TEST the product on a small piece of the same wood species. Ensure the surface is dry and free of grease, oil, wax or finish. Use Circa 1850 Furniture Cleaner or a concentrated TSP solution to remove grease, oil or wax and allow the surface to dry. Use a polyethylene sheet to protect everything around the work surface. Sand all wood surfaces in the direction of the grain with a Circa 1850 finishing pad (coarse) or sandpaper (180 grit). Remove all dust from the wood surface using compressed air or a vacuum.
Wear Circa 1850 stripping gloves and safety glasses. Mix exact amounts of PARTS A and B in a clean plastic container. Mix only what you need for your application. Using a synthetic brush or sponge, apply a coat of the mixture. Ensure the mixture penetrates completely and there is no excess on the surface. The bleaching action should begin immediately. Allow the wood to dry for a minimum of 3 hours. Reapply a fresh mixture of bleach if you desire more lightening. When the desired effect has been achieved, the surface must be neutralized. In a new clean plastic container, mix one part white vinegar with two parts warm water. Apply the diluted vinegar solution to the surface using a synthetic brush or sponge. Ensure the mixture penetrates completely and there is no excess on the surface. Allow the wood to dry completely for a minimum of 24 hours.
After the surface is completely dry, sand the wood to remove grain raise or rough spots, if desired. Carefully follow the sanding instructions on the label of the finish that will be used.
