Passeport Élite water-based floor varnish is low-VOC, dries quickly, and provides superior abrasion resistance thanks to aluminum oxide. To preserve the natural beauty of wood, choose the water-based varnish.
Description
Water-based urethane varnish recommended for all interior wood surfaces such as floors, furniture, woodwork, doors, cabinets, etc. This low-odor varnish dries quickly and provides a durable, non-yellowing finish. Its abrasion resistance is excellent thanks to aluminum oxide technology.

- 125–150 ft²/pint
- 500–600 ft²/gallon
- 2,500 to 3,000 ft²/5-gallon pail
VOC :
221 g/L
Available sheens:
- Matte = 5–10% maximum
- Satin = 25–30%
- Semi-gloss = 55–60%
- Gloss = 85% minimum
Applicators:
Brush, roller (5 or 10 mm), applicator pad, spray gun
Dry time:
1–2 hours at 20°C and 50% relative humidity. Dry time varies depending on ambient temperature and relative humidity.
Cure time:
Wait 24 hours after applying the final coat before allowing light traffic. The curing process takes 7 to 10 days (75% cured after 1 day, 90% cured after 3 days). Replace rugs after one week.
How to apply
Surface preparation:
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of wax, grease, dirt, and dust.
New wood: Sand to obtain a smooth, uniform surface.
Varnished wood: Sand to ensure good adhesion. If the varnish is peeling, strip and refinish.
Stain: If desired, use a Passeport Élite water-based stain or a non-sealing oil-based stain to stain new or bare wood.
Varnish application:
It is recommended to acclimate and apply the varnish at an ambient temperature between 15 and 30°C, with relative humidity between 30 and 80%.
1. Mix well by stirring gently with a stick.
2. Apply 2 or 3 coats evenly in the direction of the wood grain, lightly sanding between coats. Do not use steel wool.
3. Let surfaces dry completely and wait at least 10 days before cleaning.
Clean-up:
Clean tools with water.
Storage:
Minimum temperature 5°C, maximum temperature 35°C. Stable through freeze-thaw (if frozen, let thaw completely before use). KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Excellent vernis, met réellement en valeur le bois. J’utilise ce vernis sur des meubles et pour l’instant se révèle très résistant.
J’aimerais que le vernis se trouve dans une bouteille avec un bouchon qui visse.
C’est très difficile de prendre des petites quantités à la fois avec ce type de couvercle et de pot.

J’ai précédemment utilisé du vernis Blanchon mat sur une table de cuisine; le vernis a été attaqué par la sueur là où mes poignets touchaient le bord.
Nous allons voir comment celui-ci performe.
