Livos Alis exterior deck oil
Product description
Description:
Livos Alis protective oil is perfect for decks, siding, doors, windows, fences, and outdoor furniture made of dry wood. NO MORE PEELING!
Designed to penetrate properly prepared wood and not peel. It effectively protects wood against water damage, weather, and sunlight. It also has antifungal properties that make the wood more resistant to mold. However, this oil is not recommended for wood decks built near damp ground with little ventilation.
This finishing oil is an eco-friendly, high-performance product. The oils in this blend all come from natural sources (plants and tree resins), not petroleum derivatives. The performance of Livos Alis oil is ensured by a rigorous selection of refined ingredients, professionally combined by German scientists with recognized experience in wood protection.

* Colors displayed may vary depending on screen, wood grain, texture, porosity, as well as preparation and application method. We encourage you to test on a small surface beforehand to ensure the accuracy of the desired color.
** Regarding the 002 clear outdoor oil, like any clear outdoor protector, it will not provide UV protection. It is the pigment in the oil that prevents the wood from greying.
Livos Alis notes that color 004-NATURAL offers fairly limited (lower) UV protection.
* Color 048-Chestnut matches the shade of many exotic woods. Depending on the wood species and roughness, the shade may vary significantly. The rougher the wood, the darker the resulting shade.
Clear oil can be used to protect surfaces not exposed to sunlight or to dilute the pigment concentration of other Alis colors.

Surface preparation
The wood must be completely dry, absorbent, clean, and dust-free. For new wood, or wood that has never been protected, we recommend—TO REMOVE MILL GLAZE—thoroughly sanding the surface using an orbital sander with 100-grit sandpaper for cedar, spruce, and treated wood. Use a coarser grit, 80, for hardwoods such as IPE. For old boards where moss, algae, fungi, or other contaminants may be present, it is essential to first clean with Livos GLOUROS Cleaner No. 1806 and rinse thoroughly. Any other cleaning or surface-prep product may cause adhesion issues. One to two days of drying time will then be required before sanding the surface with 100-grit and dusting off. The day before applying Livos Alis protective oil, cover the dry deck with a tarp to protect it from dew.
First coat:
DO NOT APPLY IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
Stir the product well with a stick to thoroughly mix the pigment into the oil. Test on a small area to confirm your color (see note 1). Apply by brush, sprayer, or roller to fully saturate the wood. If needed, level out any excess oil after 5 minutes. Wait at least 18 hours before applying the second coat.
Second coat:
Apply a thin coat and level out any excess oil with a brush after about 5–10 minutes.
On house siding, windows, or other vertical surfaces, a 3rd coat is recommended. Proceed the same way as for the second coat.
Cleaning:
Clean equipment with SVALOS Thinner No. 222 immediately after use.
Deck cleaning and maintenance:
Use Livos GLOUROS Cleaner No. 1806 at least once a year. It will remove contaminants and stains while helping maintain protection against mold. Reapply Livos Alis protective oil as soon as the finish shows signs of wear or has become extremely dull. Any other cleaning or surface-prep product may cause adhesion issues.
Precautions for use:
To prevent spontaneous combustion, oil-soaked tools, brushes, applicators, and rags must be kept away from air in a tightly sealed metal container or submerged in water, then disposed of.

Michel Handfield (verified owner) –
Michel Mayer (verified owner) –
