Description:
Flame Control No. 20-20A is a VOC-compliant, Class A, interior, low-VOC, water-based paint available in a flat finish. It is a fire-retardant paint manufactured in accordance with Federal Specification TT-P-001932. It can also be used for exterior applications sheltered from direct weather, such as under siding or where protected by other exterior treatments. This coating dries quickly to a flat finish, with the appearance of conventional flat latex paint. When exposed to flame or high heat, the coating intumesces to form a thick, insulating cellular foam. This foam layer retards heat penetration, thereby reducing flame spread and delaying structural failure.
RECOMMENDED USES:
For application on all combustible surfaces when it is necessary or desirable to reduce the surface burning characteristics of the substrate. It can also be used for exterior applications sheltered from direct weather, such as oriented strand board (OSB) or plywood, to make materials non-combustible where siding or other exterior treatments are to be installed over them as a finish.
